Beautiful books

fox 4#26/60

Sometimes you encounter truly beautiful books. My favourite at the moment is the Fox and the Star by Coralie Bickford-Smith, a lovely little book I stumbled upon whilst shelving one day.

Although designed for children, the book is clearly equally marketed to the adults who share it with them. The cover is stunning; I fell in love with the attention to detail, and the fact that each page compliments the story wonderfully.

Her use of colour- predominantly dark blue, with flashes of orange for the fox- was also beautiful. The story is just as lovely; the Fox looking for his lost friend, Star, in the deep, dark forest. There is a powerful message throughout and a satisfying ending. Got to love a story with a moral.

Although I borrowed this from the library, it’s definitely a book I would love to own one day.
